‘Sputter’ explores the diesel and steam-powered polyrhythms of cranks, pistons, inlets and pumps. The structural repetitions of these stationary engines quickly lures you into reverie. With attention, discrete components surface in awareness, fettered to the engine’s cycles, but fascinatingly fitful.
